Reveal
Reveal is where new information lands — becoming known to the reader, a character, or both. Its knowledge-layer “Reveals” field is the whole point: what’s disclosed, and to whom.

RevealNode type
New information enters the story.
Reveal is a beat that discloses a fact. In the knowledge layer you say what is revealed and to whom (a character, or the reader★). It’s how you control who knows what, and when.
AffectsThe reader’s (or a character’s) knowledge state — what they now know, from this beat forward.
Wire itPlace it where information should land; set “Reveals” to the fact and its observers. Pair it with a GATE upstream to control exactly when the reader is let in.
Parameters
Reveals (secret → to whom)
reveals · tagsThe fact disclosed, and its observers (reader★ = the reader).
AffectsUpdates the knowledge state — what the reader or a character knows from this beat on.
Use-case variants
- Reader reveal — the reader learns it
- Character reveal — a character learns it — maybe before the reader, maybe after
- Shared reveal — both learn it at once
A Reveal with an empty “Reveals” field discloses nothing — fill in what’s revealed and to whom.
