Event

Event is the workhorse beat — a unit of something happening. Most nodes in a graph are Events, each becoming a scene (or part of one) in the finished book.

EventNode type
A scene beat that moves the story forward.
Event is the general-purpose beat: a moment where something happens that isn’t specifically a reveal, a turn, or a structural marker. Every shared beat field applies — viewpoint, location, cast, placement and the knowledge layer.
AffectsAdvances the plot by one beat; becomes a scene the engine renders.
Wire itUse it for any beat where something happens. Chain events along a thread and punctuate them with reveals and turns.
Parameters
Texttext · textarea
What happens in this beat.
AffectsBecomes the scene the engine writes (or part of one).
ExampleShe finds the burned map in her father’s desk.
Use-case variants
  • Action beatsomething is done
  • Connective beata bridge carrying the thread between bigger beats
A long run of Events with no reveals or turns reads flat — punctuate them with the reveal/turn types.
