DAMPEN turns it down. It scales a channel — tension, stakes — quieter downstream: a release valve after a spike.

DAMPENOperator
Turns a signal down downstream — easing the tension or the stakes.
DAMPEN scales a scalar channel down at the target. Point it at tension or stakes and set a factor below 1 to ease off — the breather that lets the reader recover before the next build.
AffectsThe intensity of a channel downstream — eases tension or stakes.
Wire itPut it on a tension or stakes wire and set Factor below 1 for a calm beat after a spike.
